#29998, "Avenger/Seabring parts for disc conversion?"
I've searched and read every article and write up I could find. Some mention being able to use avenger or seabring brakes for our rear disc conversion, but none of them clearly stipulate if we can use the backing plate from those cars. I'd be able to find an avenger or seabring at the junk yard alot easier than a GS or GS-t. Thanks

Yes, completely the same.
If you follow the tech topic on my website you can save youself the hassle of swapping out all the e-brake cables assemblies. You do a slight mod to the backing plates and use the old drum e-brake cables.
NOTE: When you get the parts from the junk yard be sure to get all the e-brake shoes, springs, keepers, etc. that go under the drum. There is no need to pull all those parts out when you remove and install the backing plates so that way none will get lost. If you go to a yard where they won't let you pull the parts yourself be sure the yard guy understands this or you'll be at the dealer looking for parts later.
