ok, i was in need of new brakes, so i figured id put down a few more dollars for a gsx front upgrade. my question is, i replaced the master cylinder, but im reading some of these posts and people are asking about the booster. will i be alright just changing the master?? question #2, since ive gone this far, im thinking i might as well do the back also. i was reading the write up on this, and i just need to know if the brackets have the ebrake assembly with it, or if i need the entire hub. finally, question #3, my friends and i were trying to take out my driver side axle (hit curb, decided it was time for better brakes, i wasnt even going fast, wtf??) so we unbolted the control arms, and had the axle right there, and it wouldnt budge. we tried prying it, and still nothing. any help is appreciated.

Chris, To answer your questions: 1) The GSX Master Cylinder should (I'm 95% sure) bolt up to your brake booster it's 1/16" larger bore diameter but the bolt pattern is the same. The seals are suppossed to be a little better under heavy braking and pressure also. 2) Yes Most places you get the backing plates will send you the backing plate with the ebrake cable and ebrake assembly attached. I got Mine from www.mitsubishigraveyard.com you have to Email the Guy but he has about everything for eclipses you can imagine. I think I paid like 140 shipped for the backing plate assemblies. 3) I'm not sure what your trying to say is stuck. The axle stuck in the Hub or in the transmission? If it's stuck in the tranny a long pry bar will do the trick there's a retaining clip that locks inside the differential that can be a little stubborn, you just have to get it on the small lip of the halfshaft and pry against the diff housing. If it's stuck in the Hub you're probably gonna have to heat the Hub (be prepared to replace more than just the half shaft) and Use an Air Hammer on the center dimple of the shaft end. When I had to replace Mine a few years ago they were so rusted I thought I was gonna have to replace the entire knuckles. But 8 hours later and a full tank of ascytalene (yeah i know I can't spell) I cut the Hubs completely out the center til all the bearings fell out and then pulled the shafts out that way and replaced the hubs also (obviously). Bolted in the New Hubs Used Plenty of Anticease on the shaft splines and I've never had a problem pulling the shafts again (like all 10 times they have been out since then). Hope I was able to help you some. Good Luck with your brakes and feel free to PM me if you have any questions about My answers.

thanks a lot. we hooked up the master, and everything fits and stuff, i was just making sure i didnt need anything in addition to that. as for the hubs, i was looking online for general prices (autozone, napa) and the rear hubs are around $60. ive read that i can use my ebrake cable, and i also have a set of 1g rear calipers. if i get the hubs from a 2g, are the brackets from 1gs the same as 2gs (getting the 1g bracket tomount to the 2g hub?) i doubt it, but figured since i already have the calipers its worth a try. im back at school, so ill try the axle again whenever i get home again. thanks again for all your help.

You don't have to replace your hubs in the rear for the conversion unless yours are bad. There is a write up on the convertion in the Mods section of this site. Yes you do have to use 2g backing plates and calipers as the 1g assemblies and cables are different. The easiest thing to do is just get the complete assemblies from a local junkyard (if they have it) or email the guy from mitsubishigraveyard.com He told me he usually stocks them. make sure you get the bolts that hold the caliper brackets to the backing plates. Mitsu wants like $5 each for those bolts and they are special order Grade 10.9 or something. by the way No problem for the help.
