#27987, "Crunch sound coming from the rear drums?"

Hi my sisters car, when breaking at low speeds under 15mph makes a weird crunch sound. I've isolated the problem and believe it is coming from the rear drums. Any idea what the problem is? Breaking seems to be unaffected... it is just the weird sound that is bothering her.

New Car:
2004 350z base, Nismo CAI, pioneer avic-n1 (dvd, cd, navi)

Old Car:
1998 GS with hrc stage 2, HID 6000k conversion kit, AEM UEGO wideband, sfmu, ml, prokits, Greddy warning gauges: egt, boost gauge, and oil pressure, apexi tt, haydans tranny cooler, costum dp, groundwires, dynotune fp gauge. gst muff, turbo spoiler
Boostin since Aug 03.

nothing like driving with the windows down and the music low: i love hearing the turbo spool, swwwhhhttt!!!!

what kind of car? does she have a sway bar? I know that my front sway bar links need to be tightened and it clunks when i brake or turn sometimes.. maybe the body is lose in the back of her car and its having somewhat of the same effect. Also.. try tightening those lugs

My advice would be to look at where the noise is coming from and see if anything is out of place first, then ask questions.

Pull a drum and see if the attaching hardware for the brake shoes has come apart. Could also be the sway bar links. ( more if it is a clunk sound though )

So now at 44 what the hell do I do?
