So, eithier my struts are shot or the Eclipse suspension rides like sh*t! I haven't figured it out yet. Its stock. How does your car ride?

What type of shock do you guys recommend for a daily driver?

There are a lot of things that could cause your car to ride like shit, but since it is a completely subjective judgement, it is really hard to say what the problem is without some more information.
Does it bounce? Is it just too stiff, and are you getting your ass kicked over train tracks and speedbumps? Is the handling unresponsive? Too responsive (twitchy)? Is it wandering all over the road? Eating tires?

Our stock suspension is on the stiff (aka sporty) side. The fronts aren't too bad, but the rear suspension tends to be a bit on the stiff side and will seem to ride over bumps much rougher then the fronts do. If your suspension is in good shape, the car should not bounce. One way to check is to push down on your car hard enough to compress the suspension a good bit, and jump off. If it wobbles more then three times, or is drastically uneven from left to right (instead of both sides of the car moving up and down equal amounts, it starts rocking from side to side) or front to back (same thing), you need new shocks.

as for shocks go, it is hard to go wrong with something adjustable, because that way you can tweak it to your own preference instead of what some guy in a factory thought was good for our car.
