just noticed when i was putting on new control arms that my gromets are missing on my caliper bolts.when i go down the road i always here a "clang"type sound and when i hit rhe caliper w a rubber mallet i can hear same sound.might be the cause?sount is coming from bolt hiting the bracket.

you talking about the little rubber bellows that slide over the bolts, if so I dont think that would cause a clang sound

But maybe the dust shield is rubbing on something or loose.
