Okay, I've done a search of the forums and everything I read says this is caused by warped rotors. Well, this can not be in my situation because I just replaced the rotors and pads yesterday. Problem still not fixed, so what else could it be. I am thinking it is cv joints maybe, but I am by no means an expert. What do you all think. If it is cv joints, does any one know of any good write ups on how to change them on the web. Thanks for the help

Did you clean any rust or other corrosion off the hub where the rotor sits? If not, even a speck of rust can prevent the rotor from seating flat against that hub, which would result in it being warped, despite being brand new. If nothing else, take the car to Midas and let them do the dirty work of inspecting your shit. They'll check it all out and then tell you what is needing done as part of their free inspection. Then you go home and fix it yourself.

Usually CV joints will shudder on take off not braking. I have found several cars that have had similar problems and the cure for those were warped hubs that the rotors sit on so when you toque your wheels down the rotors conform to the hub.
Also can you feel the shudder in the steering wheel or basically the your whole car, if you can feel it more so in your seat then it's in the rear and if its more in the steering wheel its in the front.

So what your saying is check the wheel hubs before checking aything else. What part would I be looking for, is it called "wheel hub" or will the auto parts store know it as something else?? Thanks for the replies guys!

I think your first thing to check would be the surface of the hub. The surface that the rotor goes up against. You slide it over the studs and then push it back. That would be my first guess. Not sure about a warped hub...

Alright looks like I will be looking at a lot of things. As far as the symptoms of the problem, now that I have actually been paying attnetion to it I notice it very slightly when I am at speed (50mph or higher). So I will first be looking at the CV joints and tie rods, but I will look at the hubs as well when I am down there. Think this will be one of those things that will have to be trial and error. I am going to try and prepare myself ahead of time though and purchase everything I may need in advance. Then try something and see if it fixes the problem. THis way I will almost know for sure what was going on so I can post it here for someone to use in the future.

I cleaned the hub to rotor surfaces, and rotor to wheel surfaces today and the shudder I had is virtually gone. BANME!. Thanks for the info DR1665. I was so used to it, and so oblivious to the idea of rust causing a disruption to the wheel/rotor spin. With the new engine and no shudder it feels practically like a new car. YEEEEEHAAA.
