I don't know if this has been discussed here before, but as I understand it, the DSM is a front heavy pig of a car, with something like a 60/40 weight balance. Well one thing I have noticed is how far foward the fuel tank is. Does anyone think it would make a worthwhile difference to ditch the stock fuel tank and install a fuel cell in the rear spare tire area? Granted it wouldn't hold as much fuel, and would probably have to stick up past the "floor" of the cargo area, but combine that with a battery relocated to the rear, and could this make a big difference in achieving a better balance?

I think it would help a little bit, but I'm not so sure the benefits would outweigh the detriments, such as having your fuel tank technically in the passenger area.
