#27099, "How can you tell when your front strut bushings are shot?"
Over the past few weeks there's been an aweful "squeek" (more like a groan) coming from the front passanger-side of the car when the wheels are even slightly turned. I've narrowed it down to the strut tower. All the nuts are tight. The strut itself seems to be fine. All I can think of is the bushings are crap.
Also, the louder the "squeek" gets the worse a shimmy (which developed before the "squeek" but was hardly noticeable) gets. It's to the point now where I have to do something before the steering wheel flys off!

Jack up the car, and check the front wheels for play. The lower lateral arm ball joint (the lower arm that goes from the knuckle straight towards the engine) has a recall. If there is play, bring it to a dealership to collect your prize, a brand new set of front lower lateral arms!
