ok, i just replaced the bad hub in the passenger rear with a hub off a talon. mine was bad cause i curbed the car a while back (see old post) and the hub had some play in it.

anywho, i just replaced the hub and now when i drive i have a noise coming from that wheel. the noise sounds like when you roll a marble or something around in a cup or whatever. it goes away when i go on the brakes.

any ideas?

wow, no one... wells heres some more insight if it will help anyone help me

ok, looked at again after driving. the "whirl" goes away when braking or making a right hand turn

under the car, the rear cross member is kinked where the lower control arm and lower tie bar attach (the tie bar actually prevented it from bending more). i found this kink when i installed the new gst control arms. i think this kink is actually what is causing my "toe-in" condition.

could exccesive toe-in (right rear points towards center of the front, obviously not that bad, but in that general direction) be causing something inside the drum to rub in one particular spot in the rotation?

i think im going to 1st switch hubs b/t the rears and see where the noise goes, if the noise moves to the other wheel, the problem is the new hub has bad bearings. if the news stays on the right rear, then ill have to either take out the rear cross member and reshape it or get a new crossmember off a wrecked a/s/e/t....right?
damnit....

BTW, the tie-bar re-enforces the cross member across its length, would there be any benefit in adding some kind of re-enforcement in the cross member to add rigidity across its width? if i have the cross member out anyways, might as well see if i can strengthen it more, huh?

I believe it could be worn e-brake shoe...check that...

And if you find out how to replace it, let me know...cause my e-brake shoes are gone...

Sorry I cant help you with your hub problem. I just wanted to ask you whats the name of thoes rims. They would be badd ass chrome.
