#26276, "rear drum swap with drum e cable people"

How did you use the RS(drum) emergency cables on the rotor dust cover? I couldn't come up with any way to make the cables "tight" or "stay" on the cover. Tell me what you did or what options I have. Because if the cables are not on securly, the cables come loose and I can't use my e-brake. I'm driving around town without e-brake, HELP!!! TIA

I did that, but the cable wont stay because there is no place to put the lock washer or whatever it's called to secure the cable to the dust sheild. So everytime I pull on it, the cable slips out. Did you do anything to secure the wire to the dust shield?

You are using emergency brake cables from a car with rear rotors right? You can not use drum cables on rear disc brakes.

Really? I thought people were saying that you can use the drum cables to work on disk set up. Are those cables expensive?

Actually, you can. You just need to modify the dust shield in the back a bit to accomodate this. I did this very thing on my talon.

Can you define "modify"? I guess the question I have is, how did you lock your cable to the dust shield? or what kind of clamp did you use? or what ever you did to make it secure on the shield. Let me know what you did or show me pictures if you have any. That would be great!

News to me! I didn't realize you could use the drum cables. I'd also like to know how to modify it,
