#24622, "Weird noise after installing rear upper strut bar?"

Like the title says, I'm hearing some weird noise coming from the rear after installing a rear upper strut bar. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this as well and if it's normal or if I did something wrong. The noise only occurs when my car is in motion and above 10 mph. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that's it. They're tightened.

Make sure the bar has a neutral tension, it should be able to raise and lift over the studs without force.

Then torque the spring hat nuts to 32 ft/lbs.

Also, make sure the strut bar to strut bar hat bolts are tight.

So you mean that my bar's tension isn't balanced correctly on both sides?

What I'm trying to say is you shouldn't tighten the bar inward or outward once it's bolted up.

Oh okay. So what should I do then. Tighten the bar before I bolt it on my car?

Well, you can keep everything loose until you put it over the bolts, just don't make the bar push outward or pull inward.

Okay, then after I bolt it on loose, I could tighten the bar?

The bar should never be pushing or pulling.

Yes! I agree totally! The only thing those bars are for is to HOLD the position of the struts and not let them move. With a "pre-tension" on them you are defeating the purpose...

So now at 44 what the hell do I do?
