few days ago I started hearing this slapping noise from right front but didn't pay that much attention to it but yesterday it got really bad. It feels like I have a flat tire and makes loud thumping noises when car is moving but goes away when its at idle. I'm scared to drive the car now. anybody has any ideas what it could be???

Slapping noise? Is it worse when you go over bumps? Mine is doing something similar...when i back up i hear a metal slapping kinda sounds from the passenger side, and also when i go over bumps. I thought my wheel was going to fall off or something. I noticed today that my caliper is only on by the top bolt and the bottom kinda flies up and slaps back down on the rotor i guess. I have no idea how it happened, but maybe check and see if your calipers are secure. I didnt notice any difference in driving or breaking either, just the sound.

I thnk I have the same problem too.... I am not sure if it is brake pad or caliper. But, I brought my car to have brake check.... they told me that I need to replace the brake pad and rotor. I think that my rotor is OK...... so, I just ordered a brake pad online and see if it may be anything better.
For my situation: the noise is louder and more often when the weather is wet or raining. I heard this situation is brake pad. If there is any problem with the caliper, do I need to replace a whole set? or just do a caliper rebuild?

check your inner fenderwell trim, notice any tire shaped holes worn through it?
