no reason why you couldnt. but the ride will be a stiff one, just invest in the best spring/shock setup its almost just like replacing the bushings with steel rod with a hole drilled in it

here is somethign to think about.
On harley FXR the rear swingarm is the early 70's had actual ball bearings in it's pivot. Now you know a swingarms does not move much with the springs only liek 10 degrees. If you take off the shocks and make the rear a Hardtail...that is you weld in hard steel so the rear no longer has a spring cushion....you MUST weld the bearings solid because the bearing cannot take the shock load. What happenes is the bearings dent from the road condition till they no longer sit in the races and fall out! Now i know you are not making the suspension rigid however you will need very high quality bearings so they do not get damaged and fall apart after a month...obviously roller bearings will not work.

I just read that article and the only ball bearings they are installing are the adjustable links. the rest of the suspension is using heim joints. heim joints are not ball bearing and are very strong. All the stress joint that kit are heim joints...you can get these joints at and speed shop. They are used in most all drag cars, kit cars, and 30's hot rods. Very common part but stainless steel are very expensive....as high as 30.00 a joint. I have a set of rear swaybar links made of hiemjoints so i could have them adjustable. I have since removed them because the side affect of heim joints is...they are noisy.
