#23832, "hummmm from rear wheels"

i just put on my summer 18's and if i go over 30 i get a pretty loud hum/ high pitch noise coming from the rear wheels it seems. i checked the lugs and they are tight.

This has never happened before. Any ideas?

How's the tread on the tires? I remember when my BF Goodrich's were worn they were loud.

some tires just hum. Is it vibrating at all? If not then its more then likely just your tires... If you are getting a slight vibration then could either be wheel bearings, unbalanced wheels, like mcubed45 said your rings(happens when one side is tightened more then the other when torqueing your wheels on), but if it is just humming then I would think its just your tires.. mine are really loud on the highway at around ~40-50, I just crank up the system. hope this helps..

Different tread patterns create different noises. It could be the tires, could be a funky alignment. Or your hub could be going. Put the winter tires on and see if the sound is still there. If it goes away it's tire related.
