When I turn my wheel to the right I get this kind of grinding/thud sound. It's more prominent on right turns but it can be heard when I'm going straight.

I've replaced the passenger side half shaft today. Much to my dismay it wasnt the problem. (at least I have a lifetime warranty on it now though)

My g/f just had a similar thing happen to her. It turned out the wheel stuts were stripped and I guess it caused an imbalance. I dont think that's what it is because when I give it a little gas when it's in the air I still get the noise. There's no tires on it to wobble.

The tie rod end wasnt in bad shape but it's going to get replaced anyway. There was no tears in the rubber peice so I'm ruling that out.

My buddy told me that it could be the outer wheel bearings. I'm hoping that isnt the case because I'd have to replace the whole damn assembly and I dont want to do that. It's expensive.

It's not warped rotors either because I replaced them after it started making the noise and it still does it.

This all started happening directly after I nailed a good pothole at about 40mph..
So, any suggestions?

It's probably a ball joint, did you get the recall done? If not get it done, if you did you could have messed it up, or it could narrow it down to one of the other 2 joints.

I got the recall done about 2 weeks ago. I was actually hoping that remedied it but it didnt. The retards at Satan didnt mention anything wrong either. They just repacked the joints and sent me on my way.

When i separated the upper control arm from the ball joint, to install camber kits, i accidently squeezed out the grease from the ball joint. Now every time I depress the brakes i hear a metal click from the wheel wells. Just throwing out an idea.

Sway bar endlinks? Motor Mounts?

Definetly not motor mounts. It's suspension-related. Only makes the noise when the wheels are turning.

I know it's tough to diagnose w/o actually seeing my car.. I'm going to take it out for a run today and see what it does. I tightened the hell out of the wheels to is if maybe it's my studs for the lugs nuts being stripped or something. I know they were REALLY loose when I took the wheels off so maybe the rotors are working themselves loose and causing this noise.

Whatever it is it's getting annoying. lol

I just took the car for a ride because I hate waiting.

Anyway, doesnt make any noises at all now. I'm assuming the lugs werent torqued down enough and it was causing some kind of wobble. The car makes no noises like it did before. The wonderful people at chrysler didnt tighten my lug nuts down like they should've after I got the recall done either.

So now I might have bad studs that are causing the wheels to work themselves loose. Oh well, better than replacing a hub I guess.
