Hey, I just got done installing my rear upper strut bar, then I went to the front one. I tightened all the bolts by hand then went to tighten them to the right torque. (81-101flb or something, it's in the chilton but I can't remember off hand right now) anyway I tightened all of them without a problem when I RIPPED the last one CLEAN off, nut and the top of the bolt. I don't feel to good right now and don't want to remove the strut assembly to see what I need so can anyone tell me if I can pick up a nut and bolt from Home Depot or something.
Help!!!

i don't think you can get that bolt from a hardware store but then again i can be wrong. it will probably be hard as hell to find the exact thing. i would try going to the local junkyard and see if they can get you a new strut. shouldn't cost more than 40 bucks or go to you friendl(hehehe) mitsu dealership and see if you can get the bolt and nut from thier parts dept. hope this helps.

Well how safe is it to drive VERY SLOWLY with only 2 complete nuts on the top of the strut? I removed the strut bar so there's not extra pressure exerted on the 2 remaining nuts. I will not corner like a rally driver either. Anyway I'll call satan tonight (666-666-6666, just incase you didn't know the intergalactic hotline, hehe), and find out how much just the hat is, from the pictures I've seen it doesn't look like the nut alone can be replaced, but I don't know.
Anyone ever have experience with this before?

You'll need to replace the whole upper strut mount. You can get them from tirerack for like $11, at that price you should just replace the mount on each side.

Are you talking about the lower most bolt that goes horizontally? if so, I can send you one for free, I have a spare from when I put my coilovers on, i bought 1 just in case. You can have it no charge if it's the one you need.

Cyan's right, that's what I was talking about. But I fixed the problem, thanks guys/gals. I got a full strut assembly from the junk yard and replaced the top.
NOTE: I took the entire strut/spring assembly apart and it really ins't that hard, it took me only about 30-35 mins to dismantle and put the whole thing back together (from jacking the car up, to lowering it). That's not too bad right?
