#22293, "Ingalls Front Extreme Camber Kit Question"

I have sportlines and the ingalls extreme front camber kit. When I bring the spindle away from the car so that my camber is within spec the end of the spindle hits the inside of the fender well, and part of the metal is bent on the spindle directly in front of the ball joint. I'm only on a 1.8" drop, can that be pressed in or something, I don't want things to suck cause my bent spindles.

Also on the rear I had to space the rear most cam out further than the one closer to the front, because I was at the max toe in and still out of spec. Is the bottom of that control arm bolted solid to the hub or is there a bushing that's going to be getting pressed on funky?

I am kind of confused by what you mean as the spindle. I have not seen the ingalls front camber kit, is it an adjustable upper ball joint that rotates to bring the arm that comes off of the steering knuckle out a bit? If so, that is quite a bit of rub if it is hitting the fender well edge there. What are you asking to be pressed in? Holla at me here or on AIM, I have worked with several another correction kits at work and might be able to help you out.

As for the rear, both the rear control arms are bolted to the spindle and have bushings where the bolt goes thru. If you are maxed out on the cams and still out of spec, then I would check some other things out to see if they are bent or worn out.

If everything does not adjust correctly, you might have to use a different correction kits. It sucks to eat tires emoji

It's not the adjustable upper ball joint type, it's the kind that replaces the anchor bolts for the spindle to space it away from the engine, and it's space so far that then tip of the spindle (right by the ball join) has bent down on both sides of the car. My camber is in spec but I was wondering if I could take a sledge hammer and bash the fender in right there, so it doesn't rub.

I'm not maxed on on the cams, I *was* maxed on on adding positive toe (to get rid of the negitive toe), and still had negitive toe, so what I did was put 1 more spacer on the rear most cam to toe the wheels in some, and then adjusted the toe to spec. I was wondering if this off balace of the two cams was going to be "forceing" a bushing at the bottom of the control arm and messing up my handling. (I know for a fact that my rear control arms arn't bent.)

I wonder what other people have done with a medium drop of Sportlines, I'm using name brand camber kits and 1.8"'s really isn't that much of a drop.

ok buddy, i had this problem and i fixed it this morning.

this is what you have to do.
on the right side, the u-joint has a little finger nail right where the ball joint sits. Get grinder/sander and chop a lil' bit of metal off that joint.
the left side, you need to cut the lip and also trim some metal off of that. your problems will be corrected.
what happened to me is, that the joint would not let the suspention compress all the way so the camber was aligned inproperly.
ingalls camber kits push the u jount to the outside becouse they indeed replace the two hooks/assy whatever they are called that grab on to the body.
with that done the suspention should fully travel and not rub againts anything.
take note that i had to hammer the inner part of the fender where the u-joint rubs to get some clearance of about 2mm.
this should fix your problem.
i have H&R race springs and im taking about a 2.0 drop.
i even had to roll the fenders in the rear.
i have KYB -GR2 fronts and AGX adjustableson te back. they work fine. i just think i need to anti-roll bars in the rear or strut bars.
i used camber kits in the rears as well.
hope this helps.

by the way: is the factory spec rear camber negative? i believe its --1.31 does any one know for sure?
thanks.

Looking to buy 4G63

The front toe is adjusted by adjusting the tie rods. You need special equipment to check it.

Spec for front camber is -0.8* to 0.2* and spec for rear camber is -2.2* to -1.2*

i am having this same issue with the ingalls front kit. my inner fenderwells came down onto my ball joints and basically crushed them. so i did the same as the other guy, i bashed those three ridges in ( on the underside of the fenderwell ) with a ball peen-hammer and sprayed it with some truck bed coating to keep it from rusting because you will expose bare metal. i just installed my new tein flex coilovers and noticed this is still happening on the driver side. i've been told that the only way to fix this is to get the spc adjustable ball joints or to cut out a hole in the fenderwell with a grinder. not being a fan of cutting holes in my baby, guess i'll shell out for the adj ball joints??....chris

What dont you understand? if youve got the ingalls kit (and probably any other camber kit) if you have a large drop like 2 inches or more to get your camber in spec you need to adjust the upper a arm placement quite a bit and when you do the front of the a arm hits the inner front fender. so either you grind the front of the a arm off a bit, bash in the inner fender

or just get the spec adj. ball joint kit and dont worry about having to grind or bash anything..cause you dont move the a arm's position but rather slide the ball joint to adjust camber
