Ok, I have Powerslot rotors with Hawk pads.

I know I'm supposed to get a little bit of feedback to my brake pedal because they are slotted. Lately I've been hearing something I REALLY don't like from my passenger front wheel. Sounds like something isn't turning properly. Almost like something is touching/rubbing every revolution of the wheel.

I'm thinking my rotor might be warped. I know there is a way to Mic it. Anyone wanna tell me how?

I think I was supposed to Mic. four corners of the rotor and they should only be off by a given amount. How much?

Wheel bearing can be checked by raising the car on that side and looking for slop when applying pressure to part of the wheel right?

You want a dial indicator. Run some nuts over the studs to seat the rotor and set-up the magnetic dial indicator. Turn the rotor by hand and watch the indicator. Brakes are generally going to give feedback through a pedal if something is truely wrong and not so much b/c you have slotted/cross-drilled rotors. Warped rotor will give the feedback but also excessive pad wear. Are you using an organic type pad or bi-metalic? The simple shit is to see if some creature crawled up near your rotor, went for a ride, and maybe died after bouncing off the dust shield. (yes this does happen, but to mostly farm trucks/ag vehicles)

yeah, best bet is to just take everything apart. Take the pads out of the calipers, look for something that might have gotten stuck in there... pebble, stone, crack rock etc. Put it all back together, lube your caliper pins, take it for a spin.

As far as using a micrometer for the rotors, your aftermarket rotors *might* be different (in thickness) from stock so I'm not sure what to tell you about that. Couldn't find my Chiltons either, I know the specs are in there though.

is it only doing this when your braking?

wheel bearings will make noise generaly more often or constatnly braking or not.


if its only when you braking it still could be the bearing jack up the car and grab the top and bottom of the wheels and try to wiggle it and compare to the other side thats fine.

and if its the brakes ^^ what they said check for mud and stuff in their and inspect rotor.

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

Took the brakes apart today. Couldn't find anything out of the ordinary.

Took it for a test driv

Sounds a little different, now it sounds like something is just a little loose. I took a look up at the suspension mount up top and saw the shock is slightly off angle towards the front of the car.

This sucks, The bushings up top are all fuckered up. On the driverside I noticed that the top rubber washer is hanging out as well.

Anyone know if this will cause any sudden il effects? I'm saving up for a REAL COIL OVER set-up that come with new mounts. How long can I drive like this? Will it just be up to my will power and loadness of my radio to keep me from goin mad?
