#21581, "Size of GSX rotors"

Basic question, what exactly is the size of GSX stock rotors? Thinking of doing the upgrade, and just wanted to know the actual increase from the stock 2GNT rotors...

BTW, searched the board, but no luck. Sorry if this has been done.

Top of this forum. Pinned. "About GSX Brake Upgrade." Says 12". There is a big difference, though.

Thanks, I had seen 12" mentioned, but it didn't say that was the stock size (and went on about 13" and so forth) so I thought those might be big brake upgrades for the GSX.

Thanks Again,
Corey

One other thing, I had asked in the sticky thread but got no reply:

I'm a non-ABS Talon. Is it possible to swap a GSX master cylinder or even a 3KGT master cylinder and brake booster into my car? I was under the impression that mixing ABS and non-ABS parts was a no-no.

I'm looking forward to doing this swap, any help is *really* appreciated.

Thanks,
Corey

Thanks, I thought 12" sounded too big for a stock brake system.

Any input on the other questions?

i don't think swapping the master would really make that much of a difference. i think it's been discussed before... the difference btwn our stock master and the GSX is like 1/16" or something really small. as far as ABS i have had no problems w/ the GSX calipers on my RS.

Yeah, I know the hardware (discs, calipers) wouldn't really be incompatible, but the hydraulic stuff (master, booster) was what I was concerned about. And the 3KGT Master is 1 1/16, I believe.

Thanks,
Corey

I am not one to doubt RRE, but they say that the stock rear brake for all disc brake equipped DSMs and 3Gs have a diameter of 10 1/4, while the 2G FWD has a 10" brake rotor in front. I know that the front rotors on my car were bigger then the rears. I also know that the stock AWD rotors are more then 10 3/4". They hafta be, because they are quite a bit larger then the 10 1/4" rear. WAY more then 1/2" bigger.

Sup...I just measured my new GSX stock rotor (front)
EXACTLY 27.5cm.... please do the conversion.
I think it's like 11" or something.
coz 30cm = 12"

Let me try the math:
12/30 = 0.4
0.4 * 27.5 = 11"
Exactly.

I hope I am not wrong.
