#21393, "Question on wheels"

I am going to get 18's on my car and I was wondering what width I should get. I want something that looks wide but not wide enough where it scrapes when I make turns, especially something like a U-turn. Please help me out and let me know what sizes I could get and should get. Thanks a lot.

225/40R18 is what just about everybody goes with. They shouldn't scrape as long as the wheels are +42mm offset or lower.

Mine are +38mm offset and I've never had a problem with them... I didn't even have to roll in my fenders.

What I was asking is what size wheels, like should I get 18x7.5 or like 18x8, etc.

No matter what size (width) you get ALL rims have equal chance of getting scraped when turning. You should be more concerned about handling your car CAREFULLY during a turn. 18 x 7 is the size most ppl have.

My rims are 18x8, but I've seen anywhere from 18x7 to 18x8.5 used on 2gnt's. That really doesn't make much of a difference though, the deciding factor if a wheel is gonna scrape is the rim's offset and the tire size.
