well, this marks the first official nasty storm I've driven my eclipse in, it's so much fun driving to work at ~35mph in 4th gear, up and down the poorly maintained hills of western NH. :-/
anyways, I was wondering what you guys use for all season radials, or in general snow handling. my set of yokohamas (aegis?) are a whole hell of a lot better than those shitty ass crap things I had on it before... mismatched treads/brands of continentals...
wouldn't it be great to have an RS-X? (not uh, that acura...)

YAY another dsmer from NH!
my advice is to put your stock wheels back on until the snow is gone. Or i can sell you some 17's konig verdicts with tires 95% tread remaining.... but rather go with stock wheels...

I live in Utah and we get a lot of snow down here, I just throw my stock 16's on with bridgeston blizzak's during the winter and it works great.

for the record, these are the 14" steelies I have the yokohamas on, the tires seem to love dry pavement, and only want to spin in first gear in snow. which's what I was originally asking, traction wise. the car's just going to spin in first no matter how little gas I give it. hey, that's fun, makes for an entertaining parking lot adventure emoji
oh yeah, and GO New Hampshire!!!

haha, the only time (other than rain) that our cars have too much torque. it snowed here for the first time last night and I couldn't get my car to move without spinning them.

I also have Uniroyal TigerPaw ASC's on my 14" steelies. TigerPaws SUCK!!!!

my phantoms on the 17's are at home nice and safe.

Ugh, what a day. I've been having those spinning problems too, takes 15 mintues to get out of my neighborhood. Well I bought Yoko ES 100's about three weeks ago, we weren't supposed to have much snow. This week, snow every single day. Today, I spun out the car doin 40 changing lanes, lost traction, almost hit two cars before sliding into the snowy median and letting the snow stop me. Followed immediately by a small heart attack and some kids from my school going by pointing and laughing. Great day for me. Damn weathermen suck.

I run my stock 14 wheels, with Goodyear Weatherhandler's on em, stock sizing. They do ok in the snow, but not as good as a true snow tire. There was no way in hell I will run my 17" Toyo Proxi tires in the snow..busted a ball joint last year when i spun out and hit a curb haha..Low profile, stiff sidewall tires are NOT meant for snow at ALL

good thing i have cheap-ass uniroyal tiger paws.... weak ass tires... but it's ok, they are cheap and they somehow stand up to the crap i put them through... (i treat them like cheap tires, replaceable....) and they somehow maintain decent traction in heavy snow, ice however is another story
