#21376, "My stock 14's don't fit?"

ok so yesterday, i figured i would take of my wheels and put my snow tires on. I have my snow tires on my stock 14's. I took my front passenger side wheel off and put the 14" on. One problem: the wheel rubs against the front of the break caliper. how in the world can this be? i had these wheels on like 6 months ago and they were fine. i don't understand how it rubs now. anyone have any ideas? please post some suggestions. thanks in advance. emoji

nope, the only thing i've done in the past 6 months is change break pads and rotors. that's it. i have no idea why they're rubbing.

use a rubber mallet or something and hit the calipers so they're closer to the rotors. They're sticking out a little bit if your stock 14's aren't fitting.

I had the same problem when i changed brake pads in the summer. I had my 17's on and they were able to clear the calipers w/o any problem even if they were sticking out. When I went to put my 14's on for the dragway, they wouldn't fit. The 14's have very little room to clear the caliper. I just pushed my calipers further down and they fit just fine.

a while back my pass side caliper decided to try and escape. when we got the wheel off, we found the top mounting bolt had come out and the bottom one eas loose. The caliper was bouncing off the inside of the rim - a 14"er.

Loosen those 2 bolts, then snug them slightly before using the mallet idea above, then crank them down to spec or really fucking tight incase they might be wanting to come undone. Trust me, this was a scary ordeal for me with the brakes. :o
