Why would you remove the ball joint to remove the axles? that's the hard way.
Unbolt the lower control arm from the body. Unbolt the trailing arm from the body. Unbolt the strut fork from the lower control arm. Move the suspension out of the way, and pry on the metal inner CV housing to break the axle snapring free. Beat the castle nut off the axle. end while someone holds the brakes. beat the axle out of the hub.
