#21012, "Loud creaking type sound from car - scared of it!!! Help?!"
Hey guys - recently (ok fine for a while now) when I accelerate off of a stop hard (more than 1/3 gas) I hear this creak from front right of the car - near the wheel. The day I bought my car I had the recalls done (ball joints). I'm just wondering what you guys think it is? Could they have gone bad already? What else should I look at? The sound is louder the harder I "launch." And is just as loud when i accelerate and turn to the right. The shops around here charge like $100 to diagnose - and i can't afford that just for them to tell me whats wrong (though i will if thats my only option in the end). Can you guys give my any ideas as to what might be wrong? When I push down on that side it does NOT make any sound (someone suggested doing this before). Thanks for your time guys.

Jack up the car. See if it creaks while jacking it up... that way you can move it up and down and try and locate the creak. Did that on mine, and it was on the upper control arm. WD40 works wonders

Hey cereal - my car does creak when I jack it up - so just spray the WD-40 around where its creaking? BC i know I had the recall stuff done and it couldn't get bad that fast. I'll try this then. Thanks!

Yeh that's what I did and it took care of it. That was like a month ago... let me know if it works!
