Screeching like metal on metal? Sounds like you need new pads to me.

Like ^ said, you probably need new pads. The sound you hear is probably coming from the metal warning tabs on the inner pad. If your wheels are big enough, reach for the inside pad and bend the metal tab away from the rotor (or take off the wheel if you have to:thumbsup ). I had to do that a couple of months ago - at least the noise goes away and you get a few more hundred miles out of the pads. Just make sure you keep an eye on the rotors for metal-on-metal wear.

ya make sure your pads aren't worn too far down.. if they're completely gone you're gonna start eating up your rotor. end up costin you more in the long run than just replacing pads
