But now its off. It happened this morning while driving. I didn't know if there was anything wrong with my brakes nor did I try testing the brakes that much. Well, I mean, they were working, and they were stopping the car, but I just stayed a good distance from cars in front of me. Light came off after 30 miles. Just curious what could have caused this, since the day before, I was cleaning the car, and I hosed the brake calipers and the discs pretty good. Could water have gone inside the brake hoses and cause the brake light to come on? I also have AEM big brakes on, they were put on like a few months ago. The light also came on since we didn't bleed it right the first time but now its ok. Think there may be left over bubbles still? Sorry for the questions, just getting paranoid about the car right now, since its literally goin down the drain. Man, just looking at my dash, so many lights on... (CEL with 4 codes, brake light, low fuel light... ) Just need some reassurance from my 2GNT family.

get new brake pads.

It goes on because pads are low...when your car runs and heats up the brakes...the pads expand...and the light turns off.

eventually it'll be on all the time. Get new pads...problem solved.

And this goes the same for the rears right? Cuz the front pads are pretty brand new. I'm guessing its the rear drums then, cuz they make a pretty bad sound whenever I brake. Hehe, just don't have the time to fix/replace the drums yet. Well, its the fronts that do most of the stopping anyway tho ryt?

If your pads are worn, chances are you are also low on brake fluid. There is a sensor in the reservoir that's pretty sensitive. Add some fluid (make sure to push the rubber thing back into the cap) - this should keep the light from turning back on until you can replace your pads. Low fluid goes for the front and rear brakes (all the same system). Good luck!

Mikey, it's likely your brake fluid. The sensor is really sensitive, even if it looks like it's full, put some fluid in. It's common for the light to go off and on occasionally once the fluid gets too low. I don't think there hosing down your brakes would result in a brake light

Cool cool. But yeah, my rears sound really bad already. How much is it to replace drum pads? Is it easy to do by urself?

Low brake fluid.

I've blown through 6 sets of front pads in 70k miles, and still am barely halfway through my drum pads. Doubt its that. They squeak alot.

Could also be your e-brake switch is shorting. Yank out the cupholder/ashtray module (no screws) and jiggle that green? wire in there.

Hehe, Dan, I already have 110K on the car. Think by this time the drums are finally bad? I doubt its the e-brake wire short circuiting cuz the light comes on only at certain times, constantly. Like when I start the car after letting it cool down for awhile, the light's on. But after some 10 mins of driving with braking, the light goes off. I'll add some brake fluid prolly tom. So what happens if I leave the brake fluid at this level? Will this decrease stopping ability or the sensor's just that anal? Well, if the brake fluid doesn't fix it, I'm guessing its the rear drums. But damn, those drums really squeak, and they squeal really bad. I don't think it was that bad when I got the car. So, anyone else here that has replaced their drums?
