I just bought a set of R1 coilovers off of Ebay for $80, and I was wandering, do I need shocks/struts also? I've never actually looked into coilovers, just blew out a shock, and don't have $350 to spend on replacing the shocks and springs. Any help is appreciated.

dude, you really need to search. you absolutly have to have shocks. you aren't going anywhere without shocks. if you throw coilovers or lowering springs on stock shocks, they will blow out in very short order. i have goldline springs and tokico blue shocks. i love em

Well, I wouldn't say "in very short order". There are guys here who have been on stock shocks and coilovers for years with no problems. I was less lucky and one of my front shocks blew after about 4 months on coilovers, and I didn't replace them until a month after that.
You blew out a shock on stock springs? If you're gonna install coilovers on blown shocks... that's no good...

I replaced the front 2 about 4 months ago, with cheap Monroes, which I was going to do now, until I get the money to buy some Tokico's. I've blown out 2 on stock springs so far.
