#2046, "rotors need turning for the second time at 60k... rotor question"

I want to get some new rotors and pads for my 98 GS. If I just get my rotors turned I know in a year I'll have to do it all over again - so I'm looking for some new rotors and pads. Any recommendations for powerslot rotors with axxis pads. I'm thinking of EBC with green stuff- they're kinda hard to find. Also where's a good place to look on the web?

Thanks,
John

I ordered the power slots last week from carparts.com for $120. I had a 20% off coupon. I am going to put regular pads on for now. I get them tomorrow so I'll let you know how I like them. I had the same rotor problem you have. I had them cut twice and they still vibrate like hell on hard stops.

That's the same setup I have....powerslots with axxis metal master pads. My stock rotors warped twice in one year, no way was I going to go through that all the time.

The only place I've seen that has EBC is Mach V they are $78, there is another one I'm lookign into Minitec A/F Street Pads, they are $70 a set and supposedly outfperformed the Metal Masters, I don' know how they compair to EBCs though.

My stock rotors also warped so I got the powerslots, but with porterfield R4S pads. The car brakes MUCH smoother now, the difference was amazing. I'd get the powerslots, you could even get powerstop rotors which are cross drilled, but I'd stick with slotted rotors.

And, best bet is to change them yourself, it's very easy and there is no reason you should pay a shop to do it.
