#20299, "trying to figure out how to do axles..."

...so this weekend i'm going to finish up my cluch/LSD installation. right now, i have everything disconnected on my transmission except the axles and the bolts that hold the bellhousing to the engine block. shifter cables, speedometer sensor, reverse gear sensor, clutch slave cylinder, 4 flexplate bolts, front and rear motor mounts, it's all removed/disconnected.

i've been trying to figure out how to disconnect the suspention components to be able to do the axles. so far i've removed the huge 32mm nut that holds the axles to the hub, but i have no idea what to do next. i've never worked on my suspention before... so what do i need to disconnect to be able to pop the axle out of the differental? pictures are good...

The Chiltons has a step-by-step with pictures on how to remove axles.

I kinda glanced at that for a minute, and started pulling off everything that attaches to the hub, suspension arms, and whatever else looked like it was holding it to the frame. You'll get to a point where you can pull the hub forward and towards you, and you can get the axle out of the hub. Then use a crowbar carefully on the green thing near the tranny output and it pops right out. The struts and all that stays attached.

sorry don't have pics, but I used the method described by Dino sometime back and it worked like a charm. No need to remove the castle nut (the axle actually stays on the car, just hangs down). I don't have time to search for it right now b/c I have to go, but I was searching for transmission removal when I found it. The axle removal is pretty simple actually. Just a lot of bolts on the suspension to remove.

Let me know if you can't find it and I'll search later.
