hey, i went to get my car alighment today and the mechanic said i really really need balljoints on my left and right side. But knowing mechanics, he also said that shops don't sell just ball joints, just the whole control arms, go figure. i don't want to spent too much on the car anymore, so is there way for me to buy just the ball joints at a mitsu place? if there is, can anyone tell me the part numbers? or how about this, whould mitsuishi fix my ball joints even if my car is lowered? i don't have that much money left that's way i'm asking. TIA!! PEACE BTW: recalled done like 3 years ago. sucks to be me

Here you go. You can use caps to find the part numbers. Either that or circle the parts you need and bring it to some place. Did you get your ball joint recall done? You MAY be able to get them for FREE. Just call mitsu and ask about the recall and give them your VIN. They'll tell you if it's been done or not.

well to tell you the truth this mechanic was being honest. Shops do not sell just the ball joint, it comes as the full assembly. It's refered to as the "lower lateral arm assembley". It is not too hard to install compared to a c-v joint (mine both went at the same time). Wether it is actually bad or not is up to speculation but if you can jack your car up and rock your wheel by placing one hand on the top and one on the bottom and it has significant travel then you SHOULD replace this ASAP.. mine was slight, i drove to chicago like that and when i came back it was a considerable movement. Don't put this off if possible.

like i said call a reputable shop NOT AUTOZONE and ask them for the quote on a "lateral arm assembly" they will know what you mean. it sounds expensive but it's really not that bad. it's under $100 but it's been a while so i cant' remember exactly
