Will 17 X 8's with 245/45ZR-17 tires work/fit?

It depends what the offset is on those wheels. It'd have to be around +38mm or lower, or else you'd have to use spacers to get the wheels to stick out a little bit.

Why do you want such a fat tire though? I wouldn't recommend it unless you're having some serious traction issues (ie, turbo).

I had 17x7's with 235/45/17 and they were fine, no rubbing at all. But my car is at stock height. Not sure about 245's but you should be allright.
