#18850, "how many have squeaky/vibrating brakes?"

i was just wondering if this is a common problem....i went to get them checked out and the mechanic said they were the best looking breaks he'd ever seen. he asked how long ago they were replaced and he was shocked when i told him 2 years!! im still getting a bit of squeeak when i come to a stop slowly though...is this pretty normal?

ive also always had a vibration problem when appying the brakes due to warped rotors. is it just me or do our rotars become warped WAAAAY too easily?

TIA everybody! emoji

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

I've used Axxis pads for the last 45,000 miles and they absolutely eat the stock rotors, I'm on my third set of fronts.

those stupid axxisss pads suck i had them they suck ass. how many miles do you got on your rotor/pads since it was last resurface/ or when the pads where changed? what kind of rotors you got? if its squeakyyy and vibrates your mechanic might not have pass the brakes part of his test,,, sorry to say.. but hey, i cant see your brakes so i cant be 100% sure. but if it does what you say it does, those are signs you got a brake problem. that or you need your tires balanced if it vibrats.
good luck

My brakes/rotors are about 6 months old and squeak on every stop, very annoying. I have hawk ferro carbon brake pads, and power slot rotors.

Then my hood rattles for some reason, when I brake somthing besides the brakes sqeak in the front, and every time I hit a bump there is a strange clank in the back, doesnt sound like bottoming out though.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything cause judging by your post count you have been around the 2gnt block a few times too man emoji. Maybe you didn't see it or something, but I just think its a bit rude to waste space on the forum when the same thing was posted just below. I know I have probably done that, but just a friendly reminde emoji .

if your brakes are squeeking, look at the pads. Is there any meat left on them? If not, replace the pads. If there is some life left on the pads, make sure they have shims on them. My rears were squeeking, so I took a peek at them, and sure as shit, there weren't any shims on there. Took me about 20 minutes to put shims on the rear pads. You can buy some cheap shims at any auto parts store. putting them on is very simple. Just take your wheel off, undo both caliper retention bolts on the back, pull off the caliper, pull out the pads, and put the shims on em. Then put it all back together.

I took it around the block, voila, no squeek.

thanks for being a dick nackers. emoji

that thread is what inspired me to post this. i was just trying to get an idea on how common it is, not how to fix it. everyone ive talked to that owns a mits. seems to have brake difficulties, and i was wondering if that commonality spilled over to the eclipse/talon owners.

thank for the info bullox! my pads look BRAND NEW, but im assuming the brake shop didnt check for the shims. i might have to take a look. it doesnt really bother me and my braking isnt effected, so its not that big of a deal, though. emoji

"i was just wondering if this is a common problem...."

That thread has 6 people telling you that it happened to them and say that it is a common problem. I *was not* trying to be a dick to you like I said, but I don't understand why you didn't just ask a question in that thread. Now, if you would have named the post something more along the lines of axxis pads or something and took some cliff notes on the other post you would know that this is a pretty common problem. Also, if you used the search I bet you would get at least 3 diffrent posts about this. And like I said before, just a *friendly* reminder... dic emoji!
