#1856, "Went to get my alignment today.....and....."
Guess what?....my front lower ball joints are bad. You know the recalled ones.....so they didn't align it. I then went to the Mitsu dealer and now I hate that place even more. I went in and talked to the service manager and he asked me what year Eclipse I have. I said "99..and I know they are a recall item." He says.."the only thing I can do is have you bring the car in here and when we get it up on the rack we can then tell you if it's a recall. I know some of them are recalled but I don't know if yours is one of them" That pretty much did it for me.....I just got pissed off and left..I hate that place. I am going to look into a second Mitsu dealer a little farther away from home and see what they say. The guy is obviously a stupid ass in my opinion. But on the plus side today I did get my new Dunlop tires on today...big difference if feel while driving. See you all later...Have a good one.

They should have offered to check it for you with no problems. I had my 99 in the dealer for about 4 days on a stalling problem....ended up being the crank sensor. Anyway, when I got the ticket for the warranty work, it said they performed the ball joint inspection. Since it was a recall and they haven't checked it yet.

Dealers are usually a pain in the a$$ and before they will say yes we will cover it under warranty or no they will look at it. You're better off staying with the dealership you bought it from also if possible because they are lot more likely to help you out. They are big on the loyalty thing. (I worked at GM with the dealerships and they are all very similar as to how they work) Also, Mitsubishi has a vin breakdown for each recall and even if you're car has the same issue but doesnt fall within the vin breakpoints they most likely will not cover it. Car manufacturers suck period. Greedy! But yeah, if you get to much crap call mitsubishi customer service. The dealers love it when you do that. ;o)

I took my car to the dealer(Puente Hill Mitsu in SoCal) a few weeks ago to replace my broken door handle and I also got the lower ball joint recall all taken care of. The service manager was pretty cool. None of those bullsh!t questions asked. Maybe you'll have better luck at another dealer.
