anyone running these tires? i wanted to get the goodyear f1's, but they were on 4+ weeks backorder at tirerack. to make a long story short, i said "screw it" and bought the s-03's (215/45-17). just wanted to see if anyone on the forums use these tires and what they like/dislike about them.

While I don't have the S-03's, I do have the recently discontinued S-02 Pole Positions... All I can say, ooooooohhhhh & aaaaaaaaaahhhh... n-i-c-e emoji I like them lots. They R just about identical, the S-03's R just a lil more advanced as far the actual compound. I think that's Y they discontinued the S-02's, Bcause U mayse well just get the S-03's.

Just like all the other tires U R looking @, there is NO mile warranty & tread does go really, really quick. U can Xpect them 2 last ~20k miles if U drive nuts like me, or I guess 30k if U drive like granny emoji They R awesome in the rain 2 (they better B 4 ~$1k). Just B careful & ease up w/ the lead foot, I've been told that I puff smoke alot when I take off & around corners (friends following me). Also, the emergency brake is ONLY 4 EMERGENCIES. U can literally scrape up rubber off the pavement w/ a knife.

Have I mentioned that I like them alot?!? emoji

P.S.
I just wish I had a better/bigger oil pan, Bcause everytime I take my wonderfully nice tires around really really super tight (I mean really tight) corners... my oil light will occassionally go on. The tires can take just about any corner, just make sure your engine can 2 LOL.

insane! how did you get them for that good of a deal? know people or something? i paid $150ish a tire for my set.

anyways, thanks for the replies guys. i guess this is my 3rd set of tires for my 2gnt, my first 2 sets were both yokohama AVS intermediates, which i liked a lot. the second time i bought them i got a REALLY good deal at tirerack, they were discontinuing the tires and trying to get rid of them so i got a deal of $67 a tire! it was nuts! they always had nice response, although they do wear kind of fast. i got a little less than 15,000 miles so far on this set, and they're almost gone. they were never so great in the rain either.

e-brake only for emergencies? lol... like "emergency! i need to make an e-brake turn or i'm gonna tweak!" i only really do e-brake turns in the rain anyways, in order to try to preserve tread life. at any rate, if i'm lucky i'll get my new s-03's and have them installed sometime this weekend.

P.S.
He showed me his receipt from way back when, cost him a hair under $1k from Firestone (yeah, I know) w/ tax & all.

bump...

for the record, i had my S-03's installed yesterday. i had the chance to test them out in the rain... wet traction is INSANE. orders of magnatude times better than my quasi-worn Yokohama AVS Intermediates. road noise is infinitely quieter too. i'll house on them once they're properly broken in and update everyone on cornering response and dry straight-line traction. BTW, they're 215/45-17, on Primax #618 (10 spoke) 7" wide rims.
