hey all,

i've got every strutbrace the car can take, eibach pros with illuminas, and 17x8 enkei rpm2's wrapped in some yoko avs es100's. i'm holding off on the whole rmracing sway bars and whatnot, but even without them the car handles like a dream.

but i work for carmax, and as such i get to drive everything out there. one thing i have definitely noticed is that our steering pump is way overboosted. other cars have very nice feedback through the wheel. the cars may roll more, but the feeling through the steering wheels are a lot better than what we've got.

for example - nsx, rsx, boxsters, etc. nsx has, by far, some of the best feedback of any streetcar i've had the privilege to drive.

anyone know of any mods to get that feeling? i know we can't disable our steering pump, but is there a possibility of getting one with less boost? thoughts? suggestions?

Maybe a lower ratio steering rack? That'd probably make it feel a lot tighter. My sister's 99 Camaro steering felt so tight, you only had to turn the wheel like four times to go from lock to lock.

I wonder if there are any aftermarket racks out there that fit our cars...

We have a pressure release valve that lowers the pressure by engine RPM (which is directly related to PS Pump RPM and thus PS pump pressure - more rev, more pumped fluid, higher pressure, more pressure bled off), so all you'd have to do is further shim open the release valve to lower the PS pressure overall, which would give you less "finger-touch" power steering, and more feedback.
