Please post the date you actually received your front lower tie and the actual preorder date. I preordered mine a month ago and would like to know the approx. date to expect it. If they are actually being shipped in the preorder sequence, this should give people a slight idea how long it will be. I do not plan on bugging RRE with this and believe the e-mail preorder idea will keep costs down. This will also help with getting custom things made in the future at reasonable prices.
...and Juan actually mentioned a REAL FU STB from RRE like 1 similar to their turbos. On that is strong and functional as well as the bar connecting in 3 different places.
Juan is the one who mentioned this to me and I like the idea. Maybe I could bug RRE and get Marcus of there to do one. He has Cruise Control and I don't so someone with that needs to be the one to get it prototyped.

Ya if you need a car, let me know, and also how long it might take. I can't really leave my car overnight anymore, so I need to know if it can be done in a day. Just let me know...

Hey Skrilla... How about a second STB like the one you just picked up? Maybe they would do one of those for us? Just a thought. A mice strut tower to strut tower bar that lets us take the oil cap off. And the second one on... whatever that bolt is :-P

(haha - figure out that acronym anyone outside the DSM community
Talking to Mike about this, the idea is to have a triangulated bar which goes from the strut towers to the firewall on the car centerline. This actually provides more rigitity than the standard tower-to-tower bar (in SCCA regs having a triangulated strut bars puts you in a higher class than the regular kind). It will clear the oil cap, and hopefully the cruise control.
The only issue is if people would have a problem drilling into the car for the center attachment point. It is either going into the firewall itself or the metal lip under the weatherstripping at the base of the windshield. Won't know for sure until we get a prototype done.
Remember, this is a real race car part, not some flimsy taiwanese disco thing. The price will be higher than the front lower because there is more material, but I'd imagine the total will still be under $100. And there will likely be a special deal on the first orders.
Throw in some feedback here on what you think of this. I really want to get one of these done, and if we can get at least 20 others interested we should be able to get it.

Heck yeah i would like to have a better FU STB. I would definetlly buy one. Drilling the third hole is no big deal to me. I think it would be worth 100 bucks, i know RRE makes really good products that are for performance, not just looks, and that is what i want. I'm waiting to hear from them on my front lower bar now. I can't wait to get it. Keep us informed about it.

I sent the info to them when I preordered. There was a space for CC info. The deal was they would not charge it until they shipped the item. If you skipped that part and are waiting for them to e-mail you about it you might want to call them. They may just disregard your preorder and not have taken you serious since you did not supply the CC info.

they told me they would call when they needed the CC info. thats what the order form said as well, since it was not a protected order. i emailed them again later, and they said they would call.
