My rotors n whatnot are rusted out like crazy from sitting exposed for months. So I figure it is time to replace them. Now, if i only go to the track, lets say, 5 times a year, and i won't be running any lower then a 15 second quarter any time soon, then should i be all set with cross drilled and slotted rotors and some ceramic pads? Or does the GSX break conversion make that much of a difference over upgraded stock stuff? Also, how much more for the GSX upgrade over the straight up pads and rotors??? TIA NWN :htumbsup

Upgraded stock components should be fine. The GSX upgrade IS much better than stock stuff, but its probably not necessary. Look to spend a couple hundred at least on a GSX upgrade, and thats if you find some at the junkyard. You can get them new at checker auto parts for 65, but they require a core. You could probably return your stock single pistons for a core, they didn't even look at my core when I turned them in (but I DID return dual pistons). GSX rotors and pads aren't any more than stock stuff (price wise anyway)

Think of it this way...you could replace your rotors and pads with GS/RS stock sized cross drilled rotors and pads...

or you could spend a few bucks more per rotor and get GSX calipers, and be done with it. That way, you can always replace with the bigger GSX rotors when you need to.
