#16447, "Brake problems.. I need some advise before I get screwed.."

I bought powerslot slotted rotors and the EBC green stuff pads about a year ago. The rotors warped in the first 6 months, so powerslot told me to use a clean up cut on the rotors. I did and now 3 months later they are warped again. I had heard of other 2gnters using this combo and warping them as well. So my question here is this, do I get the powerslots again and go with Hawk pads this time instead? Or do I get a different rotor from raceconsepts, and some type of pad? Is anyone out there having success using the powerslot/EBC combo without warping? I need to do something quick because my car shakes like it will acctually come apart.

i wouldnt go with drilled at all. either slotted and dimpled or just slotted. someone told me that dimples wear away pads more but i dont know about that for a fact. what im doing is probably getting slotted and dimpled with pads(not sure yet, porterfield?) and then nice braided lines. another better option would just be for the gsx conversion. but if i was you i definitely wouldnt get the powerslot again. hope i helped a little.

intake, 2.5 exhaust w/gst muffler, pacesetter header, msd wires, ngk plugs, port and polish throttlebody, front and rear strut bars, 1.5' tenzo springs, 17" primax rims, kuhmo tires, leather interior, gsx sideskirts, BM shortshifter, GM fluid in trans...

if ya want more stopping power the gsx conversion's the way to go. but i dunno if you wanna be replacing your calipers since it doesn't sound like those are giving you any problems. personally i like my aem cross drilled/slotted rotors a lot. they're big too. emoji if you go with the AEM's and keep your stock calipers your rotors will go from about 10.5" to 11.5" i think. lemme check real quick... oh stock size is about 10" and the aem kit is a 11.75" rotor emoji hehe it comes with a spacer to relocate your stock caliper a little farther out to accomodate the larger rotor. RRE has 'em for like $380 for the pair.

I love my dimple drilled raceconcepts, they are cut from brembo blanks and I have had NO warping at all using carbon metallic pads on them, and I brake like a crazy man and still no warping

Thank's for the input guy's. Powerslot already sent me the new slotted rotors, and I got the Hawk pads. I'm going to install them and see how they do. ? though, when I install them which side of the caliper do I install the pad with the wear indicater on? Should it go on a perticular side of the rotor? Inside or outside or does it matter?

I have had the powerslot rotors for about 7-8 mos now and haven't had any problems with them. Using carbon metallic pads rather than EBC green stuff. Just make sure when you torque down your lugs in a star pattern -- it takes only one heat cycle to warp rotors -- and improper torquing of the lugs will definitely cause it.

Hope that helps.
