#1561, "Is anyone using Focuz Dual Spring Coilovers?"
The end of this month I plan on ordering a set of coilovers and I was wondering if anybody's using these. Also, any pros or cons toward the dual springs in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

yes im using them and will actually be selling them at the end of this month. how convenient. they are great coilovers, adjustable alot more than most, and the dual spring makes the ride a little less bumpy than my maxspeeds were, but i dont need coilovers because im not raising it up for any reason so i am selling the coilovers when my springs come in, i paid $70 for the springs, so whatever i can sell the focuz for is profit. i will probably be asking for $190 shipped, OBO. let me know if you can find them cheaper somewhere else. i never used the rears, but i painted them with ceramic blue paint to match my car. the fronts are still red with blue helper springs. let me know if you want to buy them

Ok... here's the situation. I want to lower my car 2".
First, can I use the stock shocks? (at least to start with)
Second, judging by the Chilton manual, it doesn't really look to hard to install the coilovers, is it? (this is the first vehicle I will be lowering)
Third, will I need any type of camber for the car. I've read that if you go over 2" you will need cambers in the rear. Will there be any visible angle to the wheels with a 1.75"-2" drop. Call me anal but I want to do this right and don't want it to look like a 15 year old Honda where they cut the springs.
I know that I will also need to get the car realigned when I am done, is there anything else I need to be aware of before I get into the project?
O yeah, about your coilovers. How long have you had them on? I am interested in them, so let me know when you take them off. Thanks Cyan.

i have had them on for maybe 3 weeks now. you will need a rear camber kit, it is pretty random though, so you may not, or you may need both, youll just have to wait till the alignment shows your measurements. its pretty easy an install, just make sure you have two jacks (you dont need jackstands, i used my stock alloys as jackstands) but you can leave it on the jack also if you need to. just make sure you have a 17mm and 14mm sockets, and a hammer. you can use your stock struts (ive been using mine on my lowered car for almost 3 years and the ride is still perfect

So once I get the coillovers on, I could eyeball it as far as compensating for camber in the rear by using the $15 mod. Then get the alignment checked. Whoever does the alignment will tell me the amount of camber (degrees) needed to correct the wheels. Then I go back and reconfigure the rear mod to suit the info they gave me. Is this the way that I should approach the aligning, at least for the rear? And if the front needs any type of adjustment, I'd have to purchase a kit to correct the front.
To adjust the height, do I just get the wheel off of the ground and adjust that way, or can you do it when the wheels are on the ground? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I just need a plan of for when I do this.

yes you can do it like you said, but its better to just get it al done once. the alignment shop can adjust it for you after they get a measurement, just tell them how to change the camber and they will do it for you. as far as adjusting, you just jack the car up and turn it. you cant do it with the cars weight sitting on the springs. (unless youre really, really strong)
