I'm planning to get some SS lines from RRE for my RS but wanna know if I get em will the rear drum lines fir if I decide to get discs? Thanks

I think the RRE lines are for use with both discs and drums. I have them right now on my drums and they fit perfect

No man, the lines are different for the drum and discs. I got the RRE lines before I did my rear disc conversion and they will not bolt up "the right way". You can make them work, but they will not be right. I think tirerack.com sells ss lines for our drums.

Your other option is to buy bulk SS line form Russel and the proper connectors and make your own lines.

John99RS- are you saying that the RRE lines don't work with the stock drums? Because they do, and they fit and install perfectly. Unless RRE changed their product, they DO fit our drums, 95's at least. When i went to pick up the lines at RRE, Mike didn't even ask me if i had drums or discs, he just handed them over.

I said you can make them work, but you have to remove the hard line comming out of the rear of the drum assembly(fairly small piece) and then just run the line directly into the rear of the drum. The drum lines also have a mounting brcket about halfway up the line so it doesn't flop or hang there. The lines for discs don't have this bracket. The propper SS drum lines have a female connector that goes to the hard line(male) on the drum and the SS disc lines have a male connector that goes directly into the calliper. Also, the other difference is the flange on the inside of the disc SS line doesn't match up to the flange on drum assembly when you remove the small piece of hard line, therefore, it seemed to risky for me because of the pressure those lines are under durring braking. It's up to you though. That's weird because Road/Race told me that I wouldn't be able to use them until I told him I was changing to discs.

yeah, ok, i see what you are saying, i just removed that hard line, i though i was supposed to. Haven't had a problem since...

Hey I did a write on this about 1-2 years a ago. Search ss brake line. RRe ss brake line an be installed on the rear drums. The trick is removing both the hard line and the flex line. Any problems hey i haven't encounter any problems yet 2+ years and counting.
