Hey guys.. so the shop that is doing the alignment on my car just called and said that I need steering spacers -- that my tie rods were being pushed up (understandable) and that this was not a good thing. Meanwhile my car has been lowered for the past 2 years without issue (of course hitting high things has sucked) but thats expected -- any ideas if there is any truth to this -- what the hell is a steering spacer??

lol. never heard of "steering spacers". the two spacers i've heard of are (hub) centric and (lug) centric. hub centrics are for people that bought aftermarket wheels and need to tighten the space around the hub of the car and the hub flange in the wheel. lug centric are to correct offset or add offset if you want that wide look. these are illegal in most states because they make the torquing of the lugs inaccurate. ask for some clarification or to talk to the mechanic that recommended them. alot of times the tech didn't recommend anything and the customer service people are just tryin to get some commission.
