Well, i brought my car to sears for an alignment about 2 weeks ago and i had to have the control arm replaced as well.

after taht, i noticed the car was vibrating at highway speeds (roughly 80mph)and every day it got worse, eventually leading up the car vibrating while im accelerating up to highway speeds

i brought the car back and sears realized that while installing the control arm, they cracked the "stress panels?" i dont know the exact name...basically the front inner wheel well, at the very top...those metal plate things.where the control arm connects to the body. so i went to a Body shop to have this repaired and they spot welded it and through up a few plates up there to add support and supposedly everything should have been fixed.

well two days after getting the car back, its starting to vibrate again at around 80mph....but not as much as before

could it possibly be something else? or did they possibly forget to weld a crack or something....does anyone know or ever heard of this happening?

someone once told me, once there is damage to the actual frame of the car, the car will never ride the same again... am i screwed here? should i just cut my losses early and sell or trade in the car before it gets too bad?

Man...sorry to hear that. Never, ever bring you car to Sears, you'll get a much better deal from a private garage, or pretty much anyone else. I recommend finding a shop in your area that knows their stuff, and then, maybe get a second opinion. Whatever damage is done is Sears responsibility. If the garage gives you the run around, take it to customer service and let them know your pissed. Sometimes you have to a pushy asshole to get results....but I know with big companies like Sears, Walmart, etc. you'll always get what you want if you keep at them. Just my two cents....go to a real garage.

it's possible they knocked one of the balance weights from the inside of your wheel when they worked on everything. it's a really simple answer to your question I know, but let's start at the simple first!!! get your wheels balanced again and see if the shake goes away.

sorry, i shouldve mentioned that Sears gave me a free alignment and balanced my two back wheels cause they gave me brand new ones as a courtesy... but thats a good point... i dont think they balanced the two front ones...ill find out tonight and let yuo know

Get them balanced to the nearest gram or smaller if thier machine will allow. Yeah, I've had a run-in w/ Sears balancing tires and not getting the lugs tight.
