#14703, "bad axle/cv"

well a while ago the nut fell off the ball joint and it popped out going down the road, in turn the cv joint slammed hard into the bottem of the shock mount, since then I've had a bad vibration once I get to about 60mph, I thought it was a wheel weight that got knocked off when the arm dropped to the inside of my wheel, but i got it rebalanced today and the vibration is still there. Did I mess up my axle when it did that? I have a pretty good feeling I'm gonna be putting in a new axle assembly.

you didnt get all that replaced with the recall when yours fell apart?????

Bet you didnt even know there was a recall, mitsu and chrysler should be sued for not informing most customers about the ball joint recall.

and they should have payed to replace everything that went bad thanks to your ball joint letting go.

no the ball joint is not their fault, it is from the last time I put a clutch in, when I put it back together the nut didn't get torque down enough and backed off, and yes I do know about the recall gimme a little respect I'm not a moron.

Have you had it realigned since the mishap? It might be that.

I don't think its alignment problem, it goes straight down the road, just vibrates horribly

didnt mean to show you any disrespect, just saying most people dont know about the ball joint recall unless your on here alot.

Could be a bad wheel bearing too thats another thing that happens quite alot on these cars. Mine did the same thing after I hit a curb but it went away after the ball joint recall where they replaced the whole lower lateral arm.
