#14689, "Questions about Skunk2 Coilovers...."

I have Eibach prokits springs. I am thinking about getting some Skunk2 coilovers. I can get a set for $315 from one of my sponsors. Is that a good price? Will they work with my Eibach springs? Thanks guys.

Oh and if anyone else wants a set, I can get them for $315 for anyone.

I payed $285 shipped for mine off of ebay. And that seemed to be an aight price compared to the rest of the guys on the board. But $315 seems quite high to me.

So I would have to get some stock springs in order to use the skunk 2's? Is that what I am hearing?

The skunk2 coilovers COME with springs. It is an adjustable collar with high-rate performance springs. So no, you don't need any stock springs, but you could sell your current eibachs too. I did sell the skunk2's for 260 to clay, but now the new price is 290 plus shipping because the prices went up. Try to find a local place that sells it for 300 out the door and that would be decent, especially considering that you don't have to pay shipping. BTW, a "sponsor" trying to charge you 315 for those is a ripoff, I'd look elsewhere.

? the skunk2 coilovers come with springs and coilover sleeves. its a complete set on its own.

(btw this was when i tried to use the skunks with the illuminas. it didn't work!)

just slide the coilovers (spring & sleeve) over the shock body and presto ur suspension set is half complete. hope that sheds some light dude.

as u can see in the picture the perch on the illumina didn't sit low enough where the coilovers could be adjusted down some more. when i installed the skunks and illuminas my ride height actually was raised 1 inch above stock height. if u can somehow get the perch to removed it could work. ur better off going with kyb gr2's or koni yellows.

What do you guys know about the drag launch coilovers? I talked to my sponsor and I can get the drag launch for 315 as well. They are in town so there is no shipping or anything. Is that a good deal?

Oh and I have the illuminas so I guess I would need to get new struts too?

The drag launch won't work for driving on the road! They are for drag racing only! Those babies are stiff!
Anytime you use the skunk2's on any tokico strut you have to cut the perchs off of the strut. His sat too high because you can see that the perches are still on there.
