#14478, "Is there such thing as an automatic camber alignment?"

I used to have an air cylinder, I took it out cuz' of the tire was worn out improperly. I think it will solve the problem if I can install a camber that adjust itself whenever I raise or lower the suspension. Any help will do thanks?

sweet. I thought about that exact same thing like 2 years ago. I did a lot of searching and heres the answer: NO! - there is nothing out there that will do this. I haven't seen a device on the market for any kind of car, let alone a 2gnt!!!! emoji

Not too long ago a concept car came out (cadillac maybe?), that would adjust camber as you turn through a curve, to maximize tread contact. Pretty cool IMO

wouldn't the closest thing be what I think is called pillow ball suspension or something??? I may be mixed up, but I think the evos have it. it's an adjustable type of plate on top of the strut tower that you can adjust to set camber. It may be called something else. I have seen something like it tho.

actually, what I am referring to is called a camber plate. May be related with pillow ball, not sure.

Yes those are camber plates. Those would be the closest thing. Except that you would just need to mark the adjustment for a certain height and move it to the corresponding mark depending on the height after you change it.

if anyone makes camber plates for us, it would be tein I would think. I don't think there is an application for our cars tho. My friend just got them on his celica I think. He ordered a lot of suspension stuff, and another friend said he paid over a grand for a "camber kit." I hope he got camber plates and not just a camber kit for that. heh. I coulda hooked him up for $15 if so. emoji

I dont think that us 2g's have anyone that makes camber plates. I want to say that Ground Control makes some for the 1g's, but I am not positive.

there is no way we can use a camber plate to correct camber issues in our car. Camber plates are for cars using mac struts. our suspension is a double wishbone setup. all a camber plate for our car would do is move the upper shock mounting location in or out. which would not give us any camber correction.
