my driver side rear is loose at the ball joint on top. when i brake it whacks around back and forth. these shouldn't wear out all that easy but from reading this board and talking to people in work it seems to be a fairly common problem. try wiggling it from the front of the car to the back and see if it has any play. mine does that somethin feirce.
