#14320, "are all rotors the same?"

I have a spare set of front disc brakes. I don't think the calipers would work would they? Would the rotors work if I had them turned? For the rear conversion.

For the rear conversion, they wouldn't work b/c there's no drum brake section (in the front rotors) for your e-brake (in rear). You might be able to get real creative and rig something up, but it sounds like you're looking for something relatively easy and this wouldn't be.

I have hubs too. How are the rear discs different? I don't see why the rotors atleast wouldn't work. And the driver side front caliper to passenger rear, etc.

i'm pretty sure the rotors would work. there's only one part number at napa for rotors. calipers would be a different story.

he's right, front rotors wont work in the back...Rear discs have a build in drum parking brake inside the rotor. Front discs do not have this feature. Front and Rear discs are not the same part numbers either.

The front and rear rotors are way different. The rears have a large inset for the parking brake drum, and the pad contact surface is nowhere near as large. If you want to do the rear conversion do what Doug did to Toney's car. He took my rear knuckle assembly and swapped it over....that is of course if you still have that stuff from that wrecked GS that I think you have. If not go to a junkyard and yank that stuff off of a rear disced 2g.

There is a guy on the Carolina DSM message board by the name of Jays93GSX. He and his father operate a salvage yard. They have TONS!!!! of DSM's there. I am not kidding. PM him and tell him that you want the left and right rear knuckle assemblies with the e brake cables. He will also ship them to you. However is not that far from you Steve. He is just northwest of Charlotte. PM him or post what you want in the Wanted forum on the board.....he stalks that forum to see what people want, and he can get any part for any DSM. No joke.
