im thinking about doing the drum to disc conver. can anyone tell me exactly what parts i need i know i need caliper,rotors,brake line . but do i need a different hub and how does the caliper mount . does anybody have pics of this converstion i just want to make sure ive got everything before i get started on it does anyone know what these item may cost me?

It's more of a cosmetic thing, not a real benefit to breaking (actually a hinderance, due to weight issues) That's why I just painted my drums black. Looks good and can't beat the cost of $5!

Its really easy to do. Basically you get the e-brake cable from a rear disc car, and the entire knuckle assembly and transfer it over. No need in getting every little single part.....just grab two entire assemblies and transfer them. Thats what we did with 1TuffRS's car (Toney's) and there are benefits from this as well. The main one is a stiffer brake pedal, and less fade. (On cars with stock f/r brakes, Toney has 13 inch Baer brakes up front so fade is never an issue).

why can't you use the existing (drum) ebrake cables?

You actually can use the drum cables, but you can't use the little pins that hold them secure to the back of the disc assembly. The hole that the cable goes through on the disc assembly and the drum assembly uses different pins/clips and the ends of the cables are different also. I originally used my drum cables, but was getting this aweful pop sound when I engaged the parking brake. I then decided to change the cables and now it's fine.

how much did you pay for the cables? so i have an idea of how much to pay. also do you know of anywhere to get the shoes for the ebrake? i going to do the conversion on tuesday when my bushing set comes in, so i wanna make sure i have everything.

I paid around $30 for each cable from a Mitsu dealer.
