1. the first step is to locate a welder(make friends quick) or must
be able to weld.

2. tell your new friend the welder " hey u know what would be cool?
if you welded some 1 1/4" tubing across my rear strut bar
brackets"

3. after your new friend has done this, simply paint it the color of
your choice.

4. if it is done correctly, it should look like this:

not to the strut mount, its welded to the strut bar brackets. i ordered the rear strut from a local shop without seeing a picture but it was $70 so i thought it would be decent. since the brackets bend down and then the bar attaches, it had a lot of flex, so i had my friend weld the tubing on it to make it a little more solid. it helped alot, it doesn't flex at all now.

Anyone know any good sites on welding? I couldnt find any.

I ahve all the supplies, well........ my dad's garage does across the city hehe..... I'd like to weld a couple bars in a couple places to increase stability.

wouldn't it be more efficient to just straight up weld a thick bar from one tower to another. By doing that you just make that crappy strut bar stiffer but you still getting some give where the brackets are. The back doesn't need a whole lotta stiffening also the front is where all the weight is. Some people like me don't have that kinda strut bar also it doesn't sit as low as yours.

I've seen peeps with AE86s weld their rear strut towers together.

yeah but i wanted it to still be removable.

your right, also with my roll bars its already pretty stiff. i was trying to find a good place for a front lower brace but i'm gonna have to jack up my car and really look at it. i kind just had it done, i was visiting my friend at work and we were just trying to think of stuff for him to weld.
do you know where the best place for a front lower brace would be?
