#13805, "Question about alignment."

Alright, I just got my car aligned and they said because the car is so low that they had to take the front bumper off to do the alignment. Does this sound right? They charged me the set alignment charge and an extra hour of labor. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I know that when i put my car on the alignment rack, i scraped going up, and just barely fit over the edge. the sensors were having a tough time reading each other because the car was so low and in the way. im sure they could have worked around it, but i know alot of shops wont even touch lowered cars.

I'm surprised they bothered with the effort. It's true that they usually would just stay away from cars that are too low.

If you want to be anal about it, you could fight some of the cost and say you never agreed to removal of bumper. I know in jersey, they have to call you to inform you and get your okay before doing any work. (unless you signed something in advance)
